We are officially a 2026 Main Street America Affiliate Community!
As a Main Street America™ Affiliate, The Borger Main Street Project is part of a national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. Nationally recognized. Locally powered.
A little about Main Street America:
Main Street America™ is a movement. Main Street America has been helping revitalize older and historic commercial districts for more than 35 years. It is the leading voice for preservation-based economic development and community revitalization across the country. Made up of small towns, mid-sized communities, and urban commercial districts, Main
Street America represents the broad diversity that makes this country so unique. Working together, the programs that make up the Main Street America network help to breathe new life into the places people call home.
Main Street America is a mark of distinction.
It is a seal, recognizing that participating programs, organizations, and communities are part of a national movement with a proven track record for celebrating community character, preserving local history, and generating impressive economic returns. Since 1980, over 2,000 communities have been part of Main Street,
bringing renewed energy and activity to America’s downtowns and commercial districts, securing $61 billion in new investment creating more than 525,000 net new jobs and rehabilitating 251,000 buildings.
Main Street America is a time-tested strategy.
Main Street America communities are encouraged to make use of a time-tested approach, known as the Main Street Approach. The Main Street Approach is rooted in a commitment to broad-based community engagement, a holistic
understanding of the factors that impact the quality of life in a community, and strategic focus on the core principles of downtown and neighborhood revitalization: Economic Vitality, Quality Design, Effective Promotion, and
Sustainable Organization.

Join us as we celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime milestone—the 100th anniversary of the City of Borger officially becoming incorporated!
One hundred years ago, our "rough around the edges" oil boomtown sprouted up overnight in the Texas Panhandle and began writing a story of grit, resilience, hard work, and community. Now, a century later, we invite you to gather with us at Crawford Park to honor the people, places, and stories that shaped Borger into the city it is today.
📍 Crawford Park
📅 October 26th
🕛 12:00 PM (Come eat lunch with us!)
The ceremony will include:
• 2026 Centennial plaque dedication
• Historical reflections as we dig up an old time capsule and bury a new one.
• Lunch in the park
Whether your family has been here for generations or you’re new to Borger, come help us commemorate 100 years of Borger history!

Local Option Liquor Election Passed!
Borger voters recently approved the Local Option Liquor Election, allowing the legal sale of mixed beverages within city limits — a major milestone that opens new opportunities for restaurants, hospitality, entertainment, and future downtown investment.
This change has the potential to positively impact local businesses, encourage new restaurant concepts, strengthen event opportunities, and continue building momentum for economic growth in our community.
Restaurants interested in serving mixed beverages can now begin the process of applying for the appropriate permits and licenses through TABC: https://www.tabc.texas.gov/
If you are a current or future restaurant owner and have questions about navigating the process, feel free to reach out to the Borger Main Street Project. We are happy to help connect businesses with resources and point you in the right direction as these new opportunities move forward.

Toddler Time will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 5/5–5/19, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM.
During this time, the walk-in pool area will be reserved exclusively for toddlers (ages 1–4) and their parents. For safety, parents must stay within arm’s reach of their child at all times. The large slides will be turned off, and access to the deeper pool area will be restricted.
This is a calm, low-key swim time created specifically for our youngest swimmers and their families to enjoy safely. Come out!
