City of Borger Invites Community to Submit Stories for Centennial Book
As Borger prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026, the city is calling on residents, past and present, to help capture the community’s history by submitting stories, photographs, and memories for the official Centennial Book.
The Centennial Book will showcase Borger’s journey over the past century—from its founding during the oil boom to the vibrant community it has become today. City officials hope the book will reflect not only the major milestones but also the personal stories that bring Borger’s history to life.
We want this book to be more than dates and events. We want it to tell the story of Borger through the voices of the people who lived it.
Submissions can include written stories, family photographs, recollections of community events, or personal reflections on life in Borger. Residents are encouraged to share memories from all eras, whether from the early boomtown days, the Dust Bowl years, or more recent decades.
The City will accept submissions through January 1st, 2026. Contributions can be sent to dthomas@borgertx.gov
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the people of Borger to make their mark on history! We encourage everyone to share their stories so future generations can truly understand what made Borger, Borger.
