City of Borger Honored with Texas Planning Award as Community of the Year

BORGER, TEXAS - November 13, 2023 - The City of Borger proudly announces its receipt of the prestigious Texas Planning Award for Community of the Year from the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association. This recognition acknowledges the city's outstanding commitment to planning excellence and community development.

The award ceremony, held in Corpus Christi on November 10th, was a momentous occasion attended by key city representatives, including Mayor Karen Felker, Council Member Pete Loftis, Council Member Kim Perez, and City Manager Garrett Spradling. Their presence underscored the collective effort and dedication invested in positioning Borger as a leading community in Texas.

Expressing her pride, Mayor Felker remarked, "I am extremely proud of this award and the recognition it brings to our community. It is a testament to our community’s resilience, progress, and hard work." Mayor Felker emphasized the collaborative spirit that has driven Borger's success.
